Foreigners change: HC Ajoie takes over a legacy from SCB

HC Ajoie will start next season with two foreign defenders, just like in 2022/23. While TJ Brennan continues to play for the Jurassic, Jerôme Leduc has packed his bags. According to information from Blick, Leduc will be replaced by Eric Gélinas. Some final details are yet to be worked out, but confirmation should follow.

Gélinas came to Bern from Sweden (Djurgardens IF) last summer. The 32-year-old had a very complicated season in the Mutzen shirt, as he only played 15 games (3 scorer points). In October, the Canadian injured his hip and had to undergo surgery that put him out of action for several months.

North American Legion

Gélinas would still have a running one in Bern. At the end of last season, however, both sides came to an agreement on an exit option, which has now been found. In the Jura, Gélinas will try to get his career back on track after that forgettable 2022/2023 season.

At Ajoie, he will join a foreign faction with North American influences. In defense he joins the American TJ Brennan. The attackers are all Canadians like him: Philip-Michaël Devos, Jonathan Hazen, Guillaume Asselin and Frédérik Gauthier.

On the other hand, it is still unclear who will be the head coach of the Jurassic team. Sporting director Julien Vauclair does not intend to return to the managerial position after saving the club from relegation following the sacking of Czech Filip Pesan in that additional role in the spring.
