They steal the Eukaltel bikes of Carlos Canal from Ourense during the Tour of Slovenia

young man Channel Carlos (Xinzo de Limia2001) had a strange experience in his still short professional cycling career when, with the rest of his team, Euskaltel-Euskadi confirmed that on Saturday night they stole sports equipment (including bicycles) with which they had to compete in the fifth and last stage tour in Slovenia (2.Pro), which prevented them from starting.

He robbery it happened the night before, at the team hotel, and the thieves took the van with all the dishes inside, incl 14 bicycles of the seven athletes present in the race: Xabier Mikel Azparren, Unai Iribar, Xabier Isasa, Txomin Juaristi, Andoni López de Abetxuko, Gotzon Martín and the aforementioned Canal Blanco.

The management of the team has submitted a corresponding complaint to the competent authorities and is now relying on the cooperation of citizens to find all the material. Unfortunately, seven orange cyclists had to stop their participation in the test.

In the case of the man from Ourense, the competition started with a brilliant tenth place in the opening stage, where he entered the sprint for the stage win. At the other race tracks on the UCI calendar, Carlos lost a total of 21 minutes to the leader, but was another name to reckon with on the final day of competition.
