Simon Ehammer (23) has set the schedule for the coming weeks. Contrary to the original plan, the Appenzeller will compete in the Swiss Allround Championships in Basel on June 17/18.
Ehammer wants to correct Götzis’ zero at the Rheinknie in a week and a half. In Vorarlberg, the world championship third in the long jump went over the bar three times in his favorite discipline.
In Basel, Ehammer will again aim for the Olympic limit of 8460 points as a decathlete. Last summer he had already reached this milestone as runner-up at the European Championships in Munich, but the time fell outside the qualifying period for the Paris 2024 games.
Prior to the meeting in Basel, the 23-year-old will compete with the long jump specialists in the Diamond League on Friday in Paris and next week in Oslo. (SDA/SME)
