In the Paris suburb of Maurepas, a 31-year-old professional football player was arrested in the night from Sunday to Monday. He is suspected of brutally assaulting his own 15-year-old sister.
As the newspaper “Le Parisien” writes, red spots on the neck and scratches on the forearm were found on the teenager after an attack. There is even talk of attempted murder.
According to various media, the suspect is former Bundesliga star Ishak Belfodil. The Algerian has been under contract with the Qatari club Al Gharafa since the summer of 2022. He previously played in Germany at Werder Bremen, Hoffenheim and Hertha Berlin, among others.
As “Le Parisien” writes, Belfodil would have visited his family during the holidays. A heated argument broke out on Sunday evening, in which Belfodil allegedly tried to strangle his sister.
