For National Councilor Greta Gysin (Greens/TI) and seven co-signatories from different parliamentary groups, tax benefits for green roofs and facades have been indicated for various reasons, as stated in the justification of the initiative. Green roofs and facades contribute to reducing air and noise pollution, reducing the rate of discharge of water, improving biodiversity in cities and lowering the ambient temperature. In addition, they help to regulate the indoor temperature of the buildings.
The Federal Council is ready to consider amending the relevant provisions of the ordinance if the National Council passes the motion.
