The military builds Mucki booths for recruits

Pumps instead of track. muscles instead of mars. The Swiss army is now building fitness studios for its recruits. These should be available as early as autumn 2024, as reported by the portal “Inside Paradeplatz”.

The Federal Ministry of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports (DDPS) has published a corresponding call for tenders on the official body for public procurement publications in Switzerland (Simap). 70 fitness studios all over Switzerland should therefore upgrade the army barracks.

Professional military gyms

This number of fitness centers allows the military to keep up with the biggest players in the Swiss fitness landscape. The Activ Fitness chain operates 118 studios in Switzerland, Pure Gym over 40 and Kieser Training operates 21 studios, as “Inside Paradeplatz” has calculated.

It should be the same way professional in the military gyms. The purpose of setting up the studios is to strengthen the fitness of the members of the military through targeted strength training, a VBS spokesman quoted “Inside Paradeplatz”.

It is not clear from the advertisement what the investment in the fitness of future recruits will cost and what equipment must be purchased.
