Hess blows his voters on the march

Many try it with a more or less funny election video. At the start of the election campaign, the leaders of the FDP presented themselves as heroes on an action movie-style poster. Not only all candidates want to present themselves as well as possible. It is especially important to stand out.

The Bernese SVP National Council member Erich Hess (42) dares to take his first steps in the music business. He came up with something special for his election campaign: he doesn’t just want to roll the drums – Hess is now also available as a march! The CD is freshly pressed and can be ordered via his website since Thursday.

“Wouldn’t it do well if I played myself”

The music producer Christoph Walter specially composed the clumsy, catchy Ländler “Üsi Schwiz, mini Heimat”, as the Bernese weekly magazine “Bärner Bär” knows. “Of course it would be nice if the song was also played on the radio someday,” says Hess.

Hess likes to listen to music himself, but unfortunately he is completely unmusical himself: “It wouldn’t be good if I played on the CD,” he tells Blick with a laugh.

Gaga, but also pleasantly self-deprecating

It is not the first time that the SVP has attracted attention musically. The party was already making a name for itself before the 2015 elections – albeit a bit hipper then. The song is called “Welcome to SVP” and is reminiscent of “Welcome to St. Tropez” by DJ Antoine (47).

In the accompanying video, everyone who had rank and name appeared in the SVP at the time: former Federal Councilor Christoph Blocher (82) mows the lawn, Natalie Rickli (46) with chips while watching SRF or Roger Köppel (58), who is on the toilet it says “WOZ” on the left. Maybe a little gaga, but also with a lot of pleasant self-mockery. (dba)
