For 2022, the EFV expects a surplus of 1.0 percent of Swiss gross domestic product (GDP). This corresponds to approximately 7.7 billion Swiss francs. In 2023, this should amount to about 800 million francs, the EFV announced on Thursday.
The slight surplus is the result of rising spending and below-average economic growth. The EFV also expects a reduction in debt.
The federal government, cantons, municipalities and social security funds were included in the statewide forecast. However, according to the FFA, the prognosis is accompanied by uncertainties because it depends on the effects of national and international developments. (SDA)
