The reason for this is electronic identification, which is not yet very widespread in Switzerland, according to the BAG at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. However, this e-identification is necessary to be able to enter the digital register planned by the BAG at all.

In addition, the implementation of the law must still be regulated in the national ordinance. In May last year, about two-thirds of voters approved the new transplant law. In principle, everyone becomes an organ donor, unless he or she has expressly refused a donation during his or her lifetime.
