Crevoisier Crelier lives in Pruntrut and was elected to the city council this fall. She knows the processes in Bern well, as she works as a translator at the General Secretariat of the Federal Public Service Home Affairs (EDI).
However, she will step down from these positions at the end of January, as Brigitte Häberli-Koller, President of the Council of States, announced before the swearing-in. According to parliamentary law, the staff of the federal administration may not be part of the National Council or the Council of States. If an incompatibility of the elected person is found, this person must decide which office to choose.
Baume-Schneider can be succeeded by the new State Councilor, as in the 2019 elections in the Canton of Jura she came first after the designated Federal Councilor. Crevoisier Crelier took the vows of office.
