However, according to the Postulate report, the industry will have to invest significant resources in research and development of technical measures in the coming years. Particularly the CO2-Emissions from air traffic can be achieved through the use of sustainable fuels and by increasing the efficiency of the aircraft fleet.

With the existing instruments planned from 2025, such as the emissions trading system and an obligation to mix sustainable fuels, a reduction of 70 percent CO can be achieved2emissions possible, the report said. To achieve net zero emissions by 2050, additional CO2 is needed2 be removed from the atmosphere.
