There are increasing signs that the Ukrainian president is landing at Zurich airport.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky will meet today not only members of the Federal Council, but also the presidents of the National Council and the Council of States, as well as Swiss party leaders. In Bern, security forces are preparing for the official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (45). The Swiss people are unlikely to see the Ukrainian president.

The federal government does not disclose what exactly is discussed with Li. The Chinese Prime Minister also does not appear before the Swiss media – only a press release is published. Only selected photographers and cameramen will be admitted to part of the visit.
Zelensky’s program is treated even more confidentially. It is not known when, where and how the Ukrainian president will arrive in Switzerland. Rumors even circulated on Saturday that Zelensky was already in the country or would arrive on Sunday.
However, there are indications that the Ukrainian will not arrive in Switzerland until Monday afternoon. It is likely that he will come by plane; depending on the aircraft, possible arrival airports are Zurich, Geneva or Bern, as well as the military airports Payerne VD and Emmen LU.
It is also quite certain that Zelensky will be received at the Federal Palace. Last week, parliamentarians were informed by email that numerous closures around the Federal Palace would take place on Monday. Only a few people are allowed access to the parliament building, even cleaning staff must stay outside.
For Bern police, two such high-level visits in one day pose a challenge: Zelensky is considered one of the most vulnerable people in the world, and in Li’s case, protests by human rights activists or Tibetans cannot be ruled out. The cantonal police of Bern announced on Thursday that most stations would be temporarily closed to free up sufficient police forces for deployment in the capital.
