The Bernese, who was known as “Mr. Corona” gained national fame and apparently the new year did not start well. This is how Daniel Koch (68) greets his followers at Bern Island Hospital.
In a video on Instagram he reports that he broke his collarbone while training. He was subsequently operated on the same day.
In the shaky video, in which he is dressed only in a hospital shirt, Koch thanks him for “the great care and great service” at the hospital. He is doing better again, he reassures his more than 22,000 followers in the video. He recorded his greeting in the mirror of his toilet.
Koch was head of the communicable diseases department at the Federal Office for Public Health from 2008 until the first phase of the corona pandemic. During the pandemic, he became one of Switzerland’s best-known civil servants. He retired in April 2020. (she)
