Police officer is shot in clip: Lausanne SVPlerin stars in brutal rap video

French rapper Alkpote’s latest music video has a Sin City aesthetic. The eight-minute clip was shot in black and white. Only a few blood-red details stand out in the photo. Including the hair of a figure from the political scene in Lausanne.

Patrizia Mori (33), SVP councilor of Lausanne, plays a supporting role in the spectacular production. In the clip, the artist shoots a police officer with a bullet before dumping his body in a river. Can a bourgeois politician show himself in such a violent video clip?

“Of course I don’t support it if someone is shot,” the politician told Blick. Mori herself was once shot by her mother and has been confined to a wheelchair ever since.

“We are not Inquisitorial Puritans”

Mori’s appearance in western Switzerland is particularly interesting because recently Vaud councilor Mathilde Marendaz (26) of the left-wing party Ensemble à Gauche drew the ire of the SVP after she posed with a sign reading “ACAB”, the abbreviation for ” All Cops are bastards”.

Isn’t it a bit hypocritical to go on a rampage when an elected representative of the radical left is photographed with an ACAB logo and at the same time star in a music video with such mise-en-scene?

It makes a difference whether, as an elected politician, you hold up a sign at a demo or whether you participate privately in an artistic work, Mori replies to Blick. “It’s just fun, especially if you know the rapper,” she says about her supporting role.

Alkpote’s music, screenplay, choice of actors and the involvement of local figures such as Vaudois comedian Yoann Provenzano are said to have convinced her of the project. It’s not incompatible to star in a rap clip and be SVP at the same time. “We are not Inquisitorial Puritans,” she writes when asked.
