Political Anger and Society: Social Decomposition

The pictures they collect have been shown a lot on television episodes of violence by individual citizens and which in our case, as a first impression, cause astonishment and disgust.

We ask ourselves, without a doubt: What is happening in this country with our people? Why have we deculturalized to the extremes of abandoning dialogue, conversation, and thereby giving blow, almost fatal, to social peace, healthy coexistence?

I personally believe that the stated problem cannot be analyze in isolation or as a subject where we can conclude that it is about “some subjects without education or without culture”.

The question seems to go further. The Panamanian population is the victim, for many years, due to pressing problems that go hand in hand with poverty, unemployment, lack of drinking water, terrible conditions on the streets, unfulfilled promises, dropping out of school, social inequality, inequality of opportunity, vicious snobberyand the so-called relative subculture is taking over, little by little, slowly, the marital mind of our boys.

On the one hand, a strong sector on population, is considered “drugged” for the slogan “fashion, brands, etc.”, and that he will not give up the right of access to this whole world of consumerism and materialism, for which he will do “whatever he has to” to get it or enter it; but the other part of the population, which goes to work every day, to earn bread, to make a daily living, will not allow anyone to bother them, to bother them, nothing matters. them and no one will prevent them from doing so. the achievement of that goal: to bring bread home to their loved ones.

However, both sectors, not one, is excluded from the syndrome of violence. That’s what Israel Drapkin qualifies as a “criminology of violence”, in one that warns that we are all, in one way or another, involved in this syndrome. The system prepares and adapts your methods.

Anger, as psychiatrists warn, is nothing but the emergence of repressed, emotional or passionate, compulsive states, which end with the desensitization of thought, memory, ability to reason, feel, value, love. You start by losing your own self-esteem and end up destroying other people’s.

There is no scale of value by which a violent man can be judged. Actions are irrational and each act is responsible for called open states. These are states that contain compulsive episodes of attacks, hatred, but also contain great frustrations.

Worthy of study, without a doubt, it must represent for our sociologistsbut above all, psychologists, those violent behaviors that happen in our environment, not excluding, in the same way, that this can be reflected in attacks on the property and integrity of the people themselves, and what to say about the violent deaths that happen in our environment , every day, where it exists took the life of a neighbor.

Throughout history, some have said that anger is sacred and belongs to the gods. Well, in Greek mythology they show themselves to some deities who represent and are subject to wrath

(Lisa personifies anger frantic, rage -especially in war- and in animals madness caused by anger), on the other hand, others dominate him, neutralize him, by positive actions and thoughts or by taking measures aimed at solving what is the cause of abnormal conditions (Eirene personified peace, harmony, serenity). And what not to say about the wrath of Zeus.

The Bible speaks of the “wrath of God”. In the Book or Epistle to the Ephesians we read: “He gets angry, but he doesn’t make mistakes.” God does not ignore our nature, but sin, no doubt, is not in anger per se. But in acts that can translate states of anger: blows, attacks, damage, destruction, etc.”.

We can all, at any time, suffer from a state of anger. However, we must control ourselves, dominate those impulsive or compulsive states which, I repeat, end up destroying us without pity or mercy.

Stubbornness, the frustration of not being able to solve this or that circumstance or situation cannot lead us to accept violence, because it will eventually end, as I said, in destroying ourselves.

I conclude with the following Joan Lozoya’s reflection: “But anger, I understand As an addictive behavior that is resorted to in any unforeseen situation, it reveals the individual’s inability to establish relationships and resolve conflicts appropriately and in accordance with the circumstances. It is a type of response that hides the fear of not being able to express feelings and needs that were often blocked in childhood, the result of wrong learning”. God bless the country!
