The new Indiana Jones movie will premiere in Cannes on May 18

The next Cannes Film Festival will be premiered Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), a new film from the saga of the most famous archaeologist in the history of cinema, whose world premiere will be shown on May 18.

As reported by Efe, Harrison Fordwho is returning to the role that made him famous worldwide, will be at the premiere and will receive an “exceptional recognition” from the festival for his entire career, the organization announced today in a press release.

The new installment will feature the return of John Rhys-Davies in the role of Sallah, as part of a cast that will include figures such as Antonio Banderas, Mads Mikkelsen or Toby Jones. The film will compete in the official competition of the Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from May 16 to 27.

On the day of the premiere, Ford, Mangold, Banderas, Mikkelsen and the rest of the cast will climb the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes to the chords of the iconic soundtrack composed by John Williams for the first installment, Raiders of the Lost Ark (in search of the lost coffin1981).

“In 1995 I had the honor to come to Cannes to present my first film, Heavy, in the director’s fortnight. 28 years later, I’m proud to be back with a slightly more spectacular film,” Mangold said in a statement.
