Football players CS-managers in shorts?

Blick reporter Felix Bingesser writes in his “By the way” column about the CS earthquake and the comparison to sports.

CS challenges Switzerland and Anglicisms. There is talk of “public liquidity support” for AT1 bonds. And then about the failed “observance of the law”, about the failed private banking. Or from asset management, risk management, money management.

One term is enough. Managed by Jeans. Rivet in every important place. Riveters who received compensation of CHF 32,000,000,000 in the last ten years.

What is the impact of the earthquake on sports? And what can sports, especially football, learn from this?

Greed and rampant commercialization are also rampant in the football business. The fish stinks from the head and doesn’t stop at men in shorts.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino is something of a CS board president. The best players are CS managers with millions in salaries and runaway bonuses. Will professional football need a new concept soon? “Too big to fail”? The football bubble may burst.

Because the excess has a system there too. And because there can be no eternal growth. The market value of Erling Haaland is estimated at one billion. His salary is astronomical. But even in sports, someone has to pay for every indecent salary. It’s not just about investors. But first of all, fans who take money out of their pockets.

Great documentary or just a PR campaign?

Just a week after the collapse of CS, SRF released a documentary about the Swiss national team. Great photos, deep insight into the inner workings of this team. Even as a critical journalist, a person tends to show unbridled enthusiasm. All super types, all great. The necessary distance is almost lost.

This film is nothing more and nothing less than a well-done image and PR campaign. Funded by struggling CS.

Is there a rethinking of sports sponsorship now? Sponsorship only makes sense if you can take clients and people on a pleasant journey. If you can convince them to be part of something meaningful. Nobody wants to help finance excesses.

Let’s get back to greed. In Buddhism, greed is one of the three mental defilements. Next to hate and delusion. But after the fall of CS, there was a lot of hypocrisy in pointing the finger at robberies. we’re better Don’t we optimize where possible? And grab?

If you put three gummy bears on the table of a small child, and another child sits next to him, then this is already a great educational success for parents when the child pushes one of the bears.

And what Hans did not learn, Hans will never learn. Hans then goes on his all-inclusive vacation, and as he storms the buffet, he puts roast pork on a plate. He leaves half. It is then fed back to the pigs.

Almost everyone takes what they can. CS managers and soccer players are not the only ones.
