What are you in the heavens

Jesus had a habit of looking up to heaven, when he prayed publicly, when he performed a miracle, and I’m sure when he was alone with his Father God. The sky was his most useful reference.

In the Lord’s prayer, he says this explicitly. That his Father is in heaven. And I’m sure that when he said that looked at the sky. But we know that God is more, infinitely more than heaven. More than billions of galaxies.

God surpasses and transcends all creation, and besides creating everything, he also establishes and sustains it. But Jesus used that expression to say that God It is in another dimension and also on earth. It transcends all creation and its being is above all. And this is also of course in all creation.

Jesus was on earth, but he transcended everything. You only need to see the parables to understand that he observed everything. I paid attention to many details. But his last and greatest reference was the Father. And he was very sensitive to human pain, and that’s why he healed, performed miracles, cast out demons, freed people. people from the oppression of darkness.

The God that Jesus revealed is immeasurably great, powerful, wise, merciful. There is no beginning and no end. It’s good to remember that, because we tend to make a pocket god, made according to our standards, manageable, manipulative. AND We use it almost as a protective amulet, or as a fireman’s god, who extinguishes the fire of our problems, misfortunes and that’s it. When the crisis disappears, that god also disappears.

In short, it is a very small god, which you take out and put in your pocket whenever you want. It’s a false god. On the other hand, Jesus had a conception of God who is the Father, and he is his son, and who lives with the Holy Spirit in absolute love, the triune God, the God who creates everything and transcends everything. That there was and is a God who has all power and glory. That he is God infinitely greater than all creation.

Jesus did not have only the earth left. Actually his kingdom is not of this world. Always your reference is your Father who is in heaven, also a symbol of the one who has all the authority, all the power, all the glory. The one who is on top, the one who rules all that exists. We must also have that last reference, the most important one, the one that must prevail in everything: Ours God who is in heaven. Amen.
