The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. The then Federal Councilor Ueli Maurer spoke of a “war by proxy.” He was criticized for this. In September 2024, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told an EU committee that NATO enlargement was a casus belli: “In the fall of 2021, President Putin said that NATO must promise not to expand again. This was his condition not to invade Ukraine. Of course, we didn’t sign this.” The lack of signature has so far cost over half a million killed and wounded, and probably over a quarter of a trillion to Western taxpayers.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett immediately after the start of the war tried to convey that “peace is achievable,” but the United States and NATO prevented this because they first wanted to weaken Russia militarily.
The West claims that Zelensky defends the free world and is the man who tramples freedom of expression, bans parties and jails opposition figures. Jean-Claude Juncker, the former president of the EU Commission, told the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper: “Anyone who has had anything to do with Ukraine knows that it is a country that is corrupt at all levels of society.” Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari reveals: Corrupt Ukrainian military is selling NATO and US weapons to Islamist terrorists Boko Haram and IS at their own expense.
A close adviser to Zelensky told Time magazine: “He’s deluding himself. We have no options. We won’t win. But try telling him this. Salushni, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, says the same thing. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko accuses Zelensky of lying to society, “but at the end of this war, every politician will pay for his successes or failures.”
Those who cannot win wars must stop them as quickly as possible and stop sending their fellow countrymen to their deaths. Alexey Arestovich, a former adviser to Zelensky, wants to negotiate and calls for new elections. Perhaps the gruff president of showbiz will need a trip soon.
