“I don’t always want to clean up after you!” is what we say to our children when we collect their toys, clothes and used handkerchiefs. At such moments, we definitely recognize the problem. Especially when we step on individual Lego blocks in the dark. Then it is quite clear to us: it will be possible to live together only if everyone takes responsibility for their actions.

But soon everything is forgotten, and we do not care what happens in our fairway. The fact that the beef we eat was fed on feed that was cleared from the rainforest to grow it is too tiring to think about. That an H&M T-shirt costs only 9.90 francs because someone was exploited in Asia, but it’s still great that you have to pay so little. We know that bulky waste does not belong next to the container, but in the warehouse, but the latter is so far away that in the end someone will dispose of this garbage anyway.

The problem is general disrespect. We do not respect nature, otherwise we would treat it quite differently. Our relationships and friendships also often lack respect. And especially to all the people who are in our service; in the hospital, in the supermarket and in the public sector. We truly believe that it is their birthright to clean up after themselves and our birthright to leave it all behind. Ultimately, we do exactly what we want our children to do. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t work so well: because they hear the accusation but don’t have a role model.

Perhaps you will find out who is misusing your container and you can throw the garbage in front of the appropriate door of the apartment. Sometimes it works wonders.
