You often hear this, but it’s not true. If you ask those who say so about a new bath that concerns them personally, they will not be able to name a single one. However, they stick to their belief: there is a prohibition culture! From the Green side! What a joke when you see who is in charge in parliament. So where did this paranoid attitude come from?
In fact, left and green circles have initiated various social debates. For example, the question of whether meat consumption should be limited to please the climate. Or how we can change our language so that everyone feels heard. But even if these discussions get a lot of media attention, they are still talk, not laws.
Now, however, many of these debates seem to feel directly threatened. So much so that they talk about dictatorship and discrimination. One word “vegan” is enough to throw these people into a passionate defensive struggle. But only those who are not sure of themselves feel threatened. So for someone who knows that meat consumption is a huge problem, there is nothing to counter the relevant arguments, except: “I like it!”
There are exactly two ways to deal with this dissonance: either you admit that the arguments are correct and change your behavior so that maybe you eat only half as much meat, which will cost a lot. Or the person becomes stubborn and overly exaggerates, branding simple sentences as fascism and posing as a freedom fighter.
It’s not “more and more prohibited”. But if some debates don’t stop, then they hit the mark. Perhaps this point should be revisited.
