With an annual salary of $9,059 million, Roman Josi (33) ranks second in the salary rankings of Swiss team athletes after Geneva NBA star Clint Capela (29; $17 million).

And when it comes to investing his money, the Nashville Predators star defender plays very offensive. The four-time NHL All-Star team has invested several million in a block stake in its home club SCB and the development of the Norqain watch brand. He is also the partner of the 32-year-old pop idol, Justin Timberlake, at the restaurant “The Twelfe Thirty Club” in the heart of Nashville. Mineral water from the Bernese Oberland will soon be served at this bar on Broadway.

Because Josi belongs to a group of investors who invested immediately, such as his ice hockey friend Mark Streit (45), football national team goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34), wrestling king Christian Stucki (38), former Federer coach Severin Lüthi (47). took over Adelbodner Mineralquelle took over!

Inspired by a Blick story

For the winner of the Norris Trophy 2020 (the best defender in the NHL), this job is the equivalent of a real home game: “I grew up in Ostermundigen, not far from the city of Bern, but my hometown is Adelboden. That’s why it’s very important to me to do my part and ensure that the Adelbodner resource remains in the hands of the Swiss.”

It was a Blick article about the “Mühlackern” drinking water supply in Valais, encouraging exceptional athletes to act fast. “We have read that Chinese investors are very interested in buying from Swiss sources. That’s another reason we want to set an example at Adelboden,” says Mark Streit, the first Swiss NHL all-star to win the 2017 Stanley Cup final with the Pittsburgh Penguins against Josis “Preds”.

Like Josi, Streit has a special connection to the Adelboden region. In his childhood, he spent ski holidays in Lenk, now 45 years old.

Yann Sommer and the four “Bärner Giele”

That Streit and Josi have managed to attract two more Bärner Giele investors, Christian Stucki and Severin Lüthi, is hardly surprising given the friendship that has matured over the years. So what prompted Zurich football hero Yann Sommer to dedicate himself to the Bernese Oberland? Dispute: “We met at an event a few years ago and the chemistry between us was instantaneous. And now I’m happy we can win Yann for our commitment in Adelboden.”

In addition to the world-class quintet of athletes, business experts such as Ben Küffer (CEO and founder of Norqain), Peter Boss (Fischer Investas), Jürg Burri (Rüedu AG) and Lionel Hofstetter (marketing specialist from the luxury goods industry) also manage Adelbodner at AQVA belongs to the holding company. A truly sparkly combination!
