5.2 billion in the first half of the fiscal year, thus already more than the entire fiscal year 2022. Siemens also benefited from the price improvement of Siemens Energy’s shares: The revaluation of the minority stake after a weak phase brought in a book profit of 1.6 billion euros.
Sales also rose 14 percent to 19.4 billion euros – inbound orders also rose 13 percent to 23.6 billion euros. Against this background, Siemens raised its forecast for the second time this fiscal year: Sales should now grow faster and profits should be higher.
CEO Roland Busch lauded an “excellent performance” at Siemens in the second quarter from January to March. The two largest corporate divisions, Digital Industries and Smart Infrastructure, achieved record results.
The development was also reflected in the workforce. On March 31, Siemens had 316,000 employees worldwide. That’s 5,000 more than at the end of last fiscal year on September 30. In Germany, the number rose by 1,000 to 87,000.
