Colombia is becoming more and more popular as a travel destination for Swiss people. Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss is now taking advantage of this and launching non-stop flights from Switzerland to Colombia for the first time from 22 November 2023.
To be specific, it will travel twice a week – on Wednesdays and Sundays – from Zurich to Bogota and Cartagena and from there to Zurich. The flight time from Zurich to Bogota is approximately 12 hours and 5 minutes, and the flight time from Bogota to Cartagena is 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The time difference is seven hours. The flights will take place until mid-May.
Edelweiss uses an Airbus A340 with 314 seats in two classes (Economy/EcoMax and Business) for the route. Flights can be booked in advance.
Bogota is the capital of the South American country and the starting point for most tours to the nearby mountains. Cartagena is located in the north of the country directly on the Caribbean Sea and offers beaches, national parks and a well-preserved old town nearby.
