Deliveries of about 195,000 cars in China were 6.6 percent lower than the previous year, as the group announced post-Corona. Sales of 216,000 cars in Europe decreased by 1.9 percent compared to the previous year. In the USA, it increased by 11.2 percent and approached 90 thousand.
“There was a clear upward trend around the world in March,” the company said. China’s economy is expected to stabilize during the year. Pieter Nota, Chief Sales Officer, thinks that BMW is on a “slight growth path throughout 2023. The main drivers of growth will be pure electric vehicles and models in the upper premium segment.”
In the first quarter, the group managed to increase sales of all-electric cars by 83 percent, reaching approximately 65,000 electric vehicles. BMW brand doubled its e-car sales to 56,000 vehicles. “Maintaining our dynamic pace in increasing electromobility in the first quarter was successful,” Nota said.
