Publisher Peter Wanner told CH Media titles on Saturday that they didn’t have to restrict the offer after the hacker attack. All content is accessible online and through the app.
But with print editions they would still have to limit themselves to four editions: one for Central Switzerland, one for Eastern Switzerland, one for Aargau and the Limmat Valley, and one for the Basel-Solothurn region.
The infrastructure of the NZZ media group was affected by a cyberattack by the so-called ransomware on Friday, a week ago. Their systems were also affected, as CH Media products outsource their IT services from NZZ.
However, Wanner said that, to his knowledge, no ransom demand has been made. Material damage is limited. He couldn’t tell how long the repair job would take.
