They were the highlights of the local gastronomic scene every year. The Swiss Gastro Awards given by the Best of Swiss Gastro Association (BOSG) are about to end. Blick learned that managing director Andreas Krumes had to file for bankruptcy.
“As Managing Director of Best of Swiss Gastro (BOSG), I have to unfortunately tell you that we are facing serious financial problems as a company.” This is how Krumes’ email to the judges on Wednesday begins. look at the letter.
The club has faced many problems in recent months. Krumes cites the ongoing effects of the corona pandemic and two “expensive” awards ceremonies in 2022.
Krumes writes that he has been in “close” talks with various investors. “Everything is taking longer than planned and unfortunately there are no guarantees at the moment.” However, without additional financial support, it would no longer be able to meet its current obligations.
Krumes: “Therefore, I had to decide to file for bankruptcy such that Best of Swiss Gastro’s business could not be continued and all employees were immediately released.” According to reports, there are said to be a handful of employees who suddenly find themselves unemployed.
This is bad news for the Swiss gastronomy scene. The annual award ceremonies, where the best and most innovative restaurants are awarded, attracted great attention. You also got a familiar face running the event with SRF presenter Sven Epiney (51).
Gastro Suisse has yet to comment on the predictable ending. When asked by Blick, the gastro umbrella organization writes succinctly: “We regret that Best of Swiss Gastro has filed for bankruptcy.”
