Postfinance CEO Hansruedi Koeng resigns

It’s over after 12 years: Hansruedi Köng (57) will step down as CEO of Posfinance, as the company announced Monday morning. The resignation is scheduled for the end of February 2024.

The ideal timing to step down: “Postfinance has done its part with regard to its strategy, and with the return in interest rates, the prospects are positive from today’s perspective,” Köng said in the press release.

As King emphasized, he leaves the bank of his own accord. “We left behind the difficult years we overcame together. I am proud of it. But these difficulties are not the reason for my decision,” he says. “After twenty years at the company, it’s time for me to make room for something new. Köng has been working with Postfinance for 21 years. He has “fundamentally rebuilt” the institute since taking over as CEO twelve years ago, the statement continues. For example, in 2013 the financial institution was transformed into a sole proprietorship, obtained a banking license and placed under the jurisdiction of the Financial Markets Authority Finma.
