Black Friday is just around the corner. As many companies said when asked, they planned a little more discount campaigns compared to last year. In others the number of discounts is more or less comparable, but the campaign lasts longer, some offer more discounts, and this lasts for a longer period of time.
Many distribute targeted discounts, while some simultaneously lower prices for the entire product range. Some have new promotions ready every day for a week, while others only offer discounts on Black Friday.

However, retailers are a bit more homogeneous when it comes to the most popular products for the sale day. “Experience has shown that electronics are very popular on Black Friday,” said a spokesperson for the Glatt mall. And this is confirmed by all dealers who have such products in their assortment.
They expect devices such as computers, notebooks, screens, headphones, mobile phones, cameras, sports watches and even game consoles to be bought with great pleasure. A spokesperson for Microspot and Interdiscount also said: “Due to the start of Black Friday and the World Cup, we expect above-average demand for TV sets.”
Glatt trusts toys
Retailers also assume very good sales for toys and items for children. “Many customers will definitely take advantage of the opportunity to purchase their first Christmas gift, such as children’s toys, at the new Lego Store, which opens the day before Black Friday,” a spokesperson for Glatt said.
According to a Brack.ch spokesperson, the supply chain situation is now significantly improved from a year ago. “We do not expect any bottlenecks in delivery. Due to the situation in the raw material market, only wooden toys can be delayed.”
“As long as it lasts”
In general, they state that most retailers are stocked, or at least better stocked than they were in 2021. Frustration with missed bargains should not go away entirely. “However, as with all of our special offers, the same goes for Black Friday deals: as long as it’s here,” the Aldi media office says, and that rule applies to other retailers asked as well.
But are the so-called bargains on Black Friday really real? Or is the goodwill of consumers being abused? Retail trade expert Gotthard Wangler also recommends that consumers make precise specifications about what they want to buy.
