Public transport: ZVV tickets can now be purchased by phone

Passengers will now be able to purchase tickets and subscriptions by phone from ZVV-Contact customer service, the company announced on Monday. These are immediately uploaded to Swisspass and can be displayed at check-out.

The statement states that a smartphone is not required and there is no need to go to the box office or ticket machine. Payment for tickets purchased by phone can be made by invoice at the end of the month, which means there will be no need for a credit card.

ZVV tickets and subscriptions, as well as single tickets and day tickets from neighboring associations, can be purchased using the toll-free customer service number. It is open every day from 6 am to 10 pm.

But ZVV writes that smartphone apps remain the fastest and easiest way to buy tickets. 72 percent of all tickets in the network area are resolved digitally. The vast majority of the rest is purchased from approximately 1,400 ticket machines.

To reach all customers, purchases can also be made at railway toll booths or via Swisspass’s new phone service. The latter is also considered as an alternative for passengers who previously purchased their tickets directly from the drivers on regional buses.
