Tenants of the massive Brunaupark project in Zurich have been worried about their future for more than five years. Credit Suisse pension fund wants to demolish 240 flats and build a new settlement. The Zurich administrative court canceled the construction permit of the CS project. The court approved the complaint of the neighboring settlement.

Residents of the “Siedlung im Laubegg” on the border of the construction site resisted the permits issued by the city and the canton. The administrative court announced this on Friday. According to the decision, it can be thought that the new Brunaupark settlement may affect the “Laubegg Settlement”.

According to the administrative court, the cantonal expert office should therefore have evaluated whether an additional report would be necessary. The fact that this did not happen is a serious procedural error and is already sufficient for the complaint to be approved.

Brunaupark-Zoff makes international headlines

The project is the second attempt to redesign the Brunau district. The first project failed in court due to excessive noise pollution in some of the 500 new flats planned.

The first plans for the demolition and new construction of the settlement were revealed at the end of 2018.
