The Federal Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit against a Swiss company on the grounds that it violated sanctions against Russia. A spokesman for the Federal Prosecutor’s Office confirmed this to Swiss SRF Radio. This is the first case filed by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office for violations of Russian sanctions, SRF Radio reported on Thursday.

Trade sanctions circumvented through subsidiary

A Swiss company has been accused of evading trade sanctions against Russia through a subsidiary abroad. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office did not provide any information about how and to what extent the raw material company violated trade sanctions.

The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) had previously investigated this case. (SDA)
