That was really tight! Swiss CEO Dieter Vranckx (49) and Aeropers pilots association president Clemens Kopetz (38) reached an agreement at the last minute. After 20 hours of tough negotiations, the Swiss pilots are no longer talking about a strike.
Most of their demands were eventually heard by the Swiss leadership. “After a long process, we were able to agree on new financial perspectives and a better balance between work, private life and family,” says Kopetz happily.
Pilots informed about details
Blick knows: On Tuesday, pilots at the Hotel Radisson Blu at Kloten ZH airport were informed by Aeropers of the outcome of the negotiations. Out of a total of 1300 pilots, 30 were on the field. Other events will follow.
They were pleased to learn that they were paid 2.3 percent more and received a two percent cost-of-living adjustment. They will also receive their task list on the 18th of the month in the future. And on the 25th, it’s not like before.
After about an hour and a half, they left the meeting room in a good mood. “The pilots are in good spirits. They were relieved that they didn’t have to use the ultima ratio strike,” said spokesman Kopetz.
“Contract accepted”
Now a contract is created from paper containing the key figures of the deal. Pilots vote again for the final version. Isn’t everything in the towel yet? Kopetz drives him away. “I assume the contract will be accepted,” he says.
