Expropriation: Abramowitsch’s secret villa in the Alps was targeted

The Alpine villa on Lake Fuschl in Salzburg officially belongs to Roman Abramowitsch’s daughter.

The huge Alpine villa of over 6000 square meters is located on the shores of Lake Fuschl in Salzburg, surrounded by a dense deciduous forest. The ownership of the “Fischerhaus”, as the property is called, seems equally incomprehensible.

On paper, it now belongs to Anna Abramowitsch (32). Unlike his father, Roman Abramowitsch (57), a Russian oligarch and friend of Putin, he is not on the action list. This will actually make the house untouchable. But things could still be uncomfortable for the Abramovichs.

According to the Financial Times, politicians and activists from the Green Party are laying claim to the villa in the Alps. He has great doubts that everything went well when he bought the building. It is said that the law regarding the purchase of real estate by non-EU citizens has been exceeded. But this will be difficult to prove: Official documents of the agreement from 2007 may have been shredded. The digital copy is missing.

The complex structure of mailbox companies

Officially, the English wife of Abramovich’s close confidant Eugene Tenenbaum (60) bought the fisherman’s house. According to experts’ estimates, the purchase price was exorbitant at 11.3 million euros. Millions have since been spent on an extensive renovation. The Englishman gave the property to Anna Abramowitsch in 2017. But as a major data leak at the end of 2023 showed, due to the particularly complex construction of mailbox companies, the villa actually had a different owner: Roman Abramowitsch.

One of the oligarch’s companies signed a loan agreement with the British woman, which was terminated in 2017 after being extended several times. According to the trust deed, the English woman never owned the villa in the Alps.

However, in order for expropriation to take place, politicians will need to be able to prove that false information was given in official documents. Perhaps the files have not completely disappeared from the world, as state Governor Wilfried Haslauer (67) told the state parliament last Wednesday. During an extensive search, officers may have come across a paper copy at city hall. (smt)
