Following a detailed on-site analysis, the airline announced on Thursday that it will resume flight operations to Beirut, Switzerland, starting next Saturday. A return flight is planned for Saturday and two more connections until January 13. According to the original plan, the route will not be available during the winter months, that is, until March 22. Switzerland normally flies to Beirut twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Switzerland is assessing the situation in the conflict zone and is in close contact with local and international authorities. It was stated that flight operations will be adjusted if conditions in the field change.

Salih al-Arouri, deputy chairman of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, was killed in an airstrike in Beirut on Tuesday. Aruri is considered one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing, which immediately blamed Israel for the airstrike. There was initially no comment from Israel.

Swiss flight connections to Beirut were suspended following the Islamist Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on 7 October and only resumed on 16 December.

The airline wrote that it will continue regular flight operations to Tel Aviv, Switzerland, as of next Monday. There will be five weekly direct flights between Zurich and Tel Aviv. These take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. (SDA)
