Numbers indicate full CO₂-The footprint of a group. From greenhouse gas emissions in operations such as oil heating or vehicle fleets to emissions from the upstream and downstream value chain (Scopes 1, 2 and 3). There is a large gap between the three largest emitters. Logistics group Kühne+Nagel (14 million tons) and building materials group Sika (13 million tons) are in fourth and fifth place.

Financial services providers emit relatively few emissions: major bank UBS and insurers Swiss Re, Swiss Life and Zurich each emit under half a million tonnes of CO2₂. However, financed emissions are not taken into account here.
