Swisscom experienced an outage on its mobile network early Thursday morning. The company said that calling, sending text messages and using mobile internet over the mobile network were affected by certain customers.
It was not initially known how long the outage would last. According to the Alletreib.ch service, people in the cities of Zurich, Lucerne, Bern and Basel are affected by the epidemic. Cantonal authorities recommend calling emergency services via a landline or another provider. According to the federal emergency service Alertswiss, some Swisscom customers’ emergency calls are dropped after just 10 seconds. (sak/SDA)
