400,000 employees can be happy! After intensive negotiations, the social partners agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement on staff hiring for the next four years. It applies to 400,000 temporary workers per year, making it the Swiss CLA with the highest coverage.

Key parameters of the new GAV: It introduces higher minimum wages (+3.2 percent in 2024) with automatic inflation compensation for future years. The social partners are now asking the Federal Council to once again declare that the collective bargaining agreement is generally binding within the scope of the relevant measures. This means that he can continue to make a significant contribution to maintaining wages and working conditions in Switzerland.

These social partners are now applying to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) to declare the new GAV staff lease generally binding for four years from 1 January 2024.

2021 and 2022 inflation was taken into account

From 2024, automatic inflation adjustment will be introduced to minimum wages in all categories (unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled). In addition, the part of 2021 and 2022 inflation that has not yet been offset is also taken into account. This means that the minimum wage will increase by 3.2 percent by 2024. Specific numbers:

2023 2024 2025
