According to Austrian media, René Benko is withdrawing from Sigma Group. As “Kronen-Zeitung” writes, after the investor’s withdrawal from Insbruck, no stone will be left unturned in the group. Benko also owns the Globus store chain together with Thai Sigma Group. Experts now assume that Thais will take over Globus completely. This would make sense since they were already directly involved in the reorganization of Globus.
Benko has investments in half of Europe. Besides the Elbtower in Hamburg, he also owns the Kaufmannshaus, Alsterhaus and Alsterarkaden. The Upper West high-rise building in Berlin and the prestigious KaDeWe, the Alte Akademie in Munich belong to the corporate segment Signa Prime Selection AG. In addition to the Golden Quarter in Vienna, the group also owns the Wiener Postsparkasse building and the Bank Austria Kunstforum.
