Throwback to Swiss Living: Lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret moves ahead of opening

The Manor flagship store on Zurich Bahnhofstrasse has been history since 2020. Owner Swiss Life spent more than two years renovating the prestigious home. It is now called “Swiss Life Brannhof”. And the first new stores opened their doors. Among others, there is also the Massimo Dutti label, US automaker Cadillac and H&M subsidiary “& Other Stories”.

Office tenants will move to the upper floors. Total area: 5600 square meters. The first two floors and part of the basement will invite you to shop again in the future with a wide variety of stores. Total area: 4600 square meters. At the end of March, Swiss Life proudly announced: “The store and office space are fully leased!”

9,000 francs per square meter

Now it is clear: this is not the case. According to CH Media newspapers, the noble underwear brand Victoria’s Secret is not coming to Zurich. Leading tenant backed out before opening. This is surprising because the lingerie retailer’s first department store was planned on Bahnhofstrasse.

This should not save branches that are in crisis, at least in other European countries. Subsidiaries in Sweden and Norway recently went bankrupt. In Belgian affairs, too, the weather is outside. This is no surprise: You don’t buy expensive laundry in bad times. Swiss Life confirmed the hasty move to CH Media.
