Lonza is creating 115 new jobs in Aargau on the German border. Stein is building a new filling facility in Aargau, the pharmaceutical supplier announced on Friday.
The facility is intended to produce antibody active substances. As a result, 115 new jobs are needed. Operations will begin in 2027. Lonza is said to have agreed to expand its collaboration with a major biopharmaceutical product manufacturer in Stein.
The additional filling facility in Stein is an important step for Lonza in its pharmaceutical manufacturing services business. This follows the recent commissioning of a bottling plant at the Valais site in Visp and the completion of construction of a large commercial bottling plant in Stein.
In contrast, US vaccine manufacturer Moderna announced in September that it would produce the corona vaccine in its own locations in the future and would give up Switzerland’s services. (lui/SDA)
