On long-haul and short-haul routes: these are Switzerland’s new summer destinations

Switzerland is expanding its route network: the 2024 summer flight schedule adds two new long-haul destinations from Zurich and two new European connections to the flight schedule. Washington, the capital of the USA, and Toronto, Canada, are joining the route network as new overseas destinations. In European traffic, the Lufthansa subsidiary is expanding its portfolio to include Košice in Slovakia and Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Commercial Director for Switzerland, explains: “After the pandemic, it has become even clearer that travel is a deep-seated human need, especially among the younger generations. Demand is constantly increasing and our flights are busier than ever. As a Swiss airline, we connect Switzerland to the world and provide our passengers with high quality “We offer a premium offer,” he said.

To Washington with A330

An Airbus A330 will take off from Zurich at 13:00 throughout the year and land in Washington DC at 16:20 local time. The return flight leaves at 20.45 and lands in Zurich at 10.50 the next day. The first flight will take place on March 28, 2024.

Swiss will fly to Toronto starting May 10, 2024. Travelers to Toronto leave Zurich at 9:55 a.m. and arrive at their destination at 1 p.m. local time. The flight returns to Zurich at 16.35 and lands at 6.30 in the morning the next day, the airline said.

Switzerland will fly to Košice three times a week with Airbus A220. Just like in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The 2024 summer flight schedule is valid between 31 March and 26 October 2024. (pbe)
