“I answer questions better than ChatGPT”: Google now also makes “Bard” available in Switzerland

class=”sc-29f61514-0 fQbOYE”>

Bard is available to private Google users.

When Bard (www.bard.google.com) asked Blick about the difference from ChatGPT on Thursday morning, he spat out the following text:

«ChatGPT and I are great language models, but we have different strengths and weaknesses. ChatGPT can be used for poems, codes, scripts, music tracks, emails, letters, etc. It is better at creating creative text formats such as or strange. Ultimately, the best choice for you depends on your personal needs. If you’re looking for a model that can generate creative text, ChatGPT is a good choice. If you’re looking for a model that can answer your questions in a comprehensive and informative way, I’m a good choice.”

Google has launched its AI text robot Bard in Europe and therefore also in Switzerland. The company announced on Thursday that as of today it will be available in Switzerland, Europe and many other parts of the world.

The robot is also equipped with new functions and is currently available in more than 40 languages, including English, German, French and Italian, as well as world languages such as Arabic, Hindi and Spanish.

This is what Bard looks like in the mobile browser.

Bard and Google oppose the success of the text robot ChatGPT from the OpenAI initiative. Competition in this segment is especially important to Google, as OpenAI is backed by billions by Microsoft. Google’s big competitor is trying to enter markets like internet search and online advertising with the help of ChatGPT. In addition, AI functions must secure Microsoft’s dominance in the software market.

EU’s initial concerns

The artificial intelligence Google service Bard was blocked in Europe when it launched in mid-May. The Irish Data Protection Commission, which is responsible for Google in the EU, has expressed concerns about Bard’s compliance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Jack Krawczyk, Google manager for internet giant Bard, told the German Press Agency that they spoke not only with the Irish data protection commissioner, but also with many data protection officials in Europe.

Making money is not a priority

At the same time as the regional expansion, Krawczyk says Google is also introducing new functionality in Bard. The system can also read responses aloud: “This is especially helpful if you want to hear the correct pronunciation of a word or read you a poem or script.” This function is now available in German and more than 40 other languages.

Google manager Krawczyk said in an interview with the German Press Agency that all Bard functions will continue to be available for free. “We’re currently focused on making Bard as useful as possible for users. So we’re not currently focusing on monetization.”

Google’s rival, OpenAI, offers a paid subscription option, ChatGPT Plus, in exchange for its service. For $20 per month, OpenAI offers priority access to new features such as better usability during high demand, faster response time, and the latest language models. (SDA/storm)
