The National Council recommends a no to the “Stop compulsory vaccination” initiative.

The National Council recommends a no to the popular initiative “For freedom and bodily integrity”. He decided that on Wednesday with 140 to 35 votes. The initiative only received support from the SVP.

Desire demands that they can decide for themselves what is injected or implanted in the body – and that this is enshrined in the constitution as a fundamental right. According to the initiative committee, the demand does not only relate to the Covid 19 pandemic. It should also apply “to vaccines, to chips, to digital information in the body”.

The Legal Committee (RK-N) considered the initiative too general and rejected it. She feared undesirable consequences of the request, such as imprisonment or having DNA taken.

However, the SVP wanted to include the right to self-determination with regard to vaccination or to “any other biomedical act” with a counter-proposal. She wanted an alternative constitutional provision or equivalent legislative changes. Their applications had no chance.
