On his birthday: Bruce Willis’ family shares private photos

The American actor, who suffers from dementia, is celebrating his 69th birthday. On this occasion, his wife and daughters send him special congratulations.

Since his big breakthrough in the 1980s with ‘Die Hard’, Bruce Willis has been one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and an absolute favorite of the cinema audience. The shock for his fans came in March 2022: the actor will no longer make films. His family announced that Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, which affects his cognitive skills. It is now clear that the Hollywood star suffers from frontotemporal dementia.

Since his diagnosis became public, Bruce Willis has withdrawn from the public eye. His family occasionally provides insight into the actor’s current life via social media. On the occasion of his 69th birthday (March 19, 1955), his daughters and his wife Emma Heming-Willis now moving words.

“He has so much love to give and share.”

The 45-year-old, who has been married to Bruce Willis since 2009 and has two children with him, shared a photo of the Hollywood star on Instagram. He is holding a baby and smiling with his eyes closed. Lying in his arms is “the safest place in the world,” Emma Heming-Willis writes about the recording. Bruce Willis is “a true gentleman. He has so much love to give and share.”

“That’s what I get to see, the true core of it,” emphasizes the mother of two. “So pure and always so good.” Finally, congratulate her husband on his birthday and address him directly: “You are the gift that keeps on giving.”

Bruce Willis’ eldest daughter, Rumer, shares a series of photos with her father on her behalf, from childhood to the present. She writes: “Being loved by you is a gift. You are the funniest, most loving, charming, crazy, talented and magical dad in the world. As I look at these photos this morning, I am filled with deep gratitude that we share this life together.”

Hers too younger sister Scout reminisces with her birthday post. “It’s amazing that so little has changed, even though so much has changed,” she said, referring to the 69-year-old’s illness.

“My dad is one of my best friends, maybe now on a deeper level than ever before, to be honest. I appreciate his affection and the great freedom with which he always loved us.”

This deep love for his family “can only be felt, but cannot be put into words.”

Tallulah, the youngest of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s three daughters, shares the messages alongside her own memories with her father on her Instagram story. Just a day earlier, the 30-year-old had spoken about her own diagnosis, which she received a few months ago.

Bruce Willis was married to fellow actress Demi Moore from 1987 to 2000. Nine years after the divorce, he married model Emma Heming. With her he has daughters Mabel and Evelyn, born in 2012 and 2014.
