And we feel that this detail stays with us for a long time. Because in autumn we switch to cargo pants and closer to winter to comfortable functional jackets. And there is nothing to say about summer: all fashionistas are already changing into extra popular cargo skirts. In recent years, the fashion industry has not stopped changing and surprising. Not long ago, we were pleased with pants with a large number of patch pockets, and now we admire cargo skirts. And not only to admire, but to try the novelty.

The cargo skirt is a thing from decades past that has returned to the catwalks. In line with the trend, many fashionistas try to add this piece of clothing to their images. But in order not to fill the wardrobe with unnecessary things, let’s analyze the features and nuances of such skirts – we are looking for “the one” that is right for you.

These skirts peaked in popularity in the 90s, so they’re perfect for a retro look. At the same time, the cargo trend cannot be called simple, because its introduction into your everyday wardrobe is not as easy as it seems at first glance.

A cargo skirt must be chosen according to your figure. This is a rule that applies to all (!) clothes, I will not tire of repeating to my students of the Pentaschool Design Academy. The most important thing to remember is this nuance: don’t wear skirts whose pockets are in an area you don’t want to enlarge.

Such an unusual detail will optically add volume, and this is not always beautiful, so think again about what you would like to emphasize in the dressing room. Add fullness to mid-thighs? Then we look for a skirt with pockets in this area. Do you need to balance your broad shoulders and accentuate your waist? Then we go looking for a model with straight side pockets.

Fashion in the style of the 90s touched not only skirts. Pulling things off mom’s chest, getting retro models and wearing them is possible and necessary today. The main thing is not to overdo it. That’s why it’s important to get the retro look right when creating an outfit with a cargo skirt. That is, to be in trend, but at the same time not to look tacky.

In the summer, the combination of a cargo skirt with various t-shirts and tops will be a great solution. But in colder weather, you can’t do without bomber jackets and jackets. Pay attention to the translucent “naked” jersey: it will be the perfect complement to the cargo skirt. Cropped jackets with shoulder pads will also help to create an interesting look: this is how we play on the contrast between a strict masculine silhouette and a relaxed skirt.

Combine cargo skirts with vintage items: oversized sweaters, luxury bags from the Karl Lagerfeld era. I even advise you to make your hair more sloppy. For shoes, give preference to adidas-style sneakers or high rough boots – it will be very stylish!

For a more feminine look, I suggest you use simple, short blouses and vests. You can also look at corsets. Basic T-shirts and T-shirts are also ideal for cargo skirts.
