Who’s ready for spring, trench coats, sneakers and mini skirts, raise your hand! Better yet, show us your closets and we’ll see if you’re stupid. Because it is not enough to tune in to the new season and the next (certainly happy and fashionable) side of life: order in the head begins with order in the shelves.
So let’s take a critical look at the structure of the wardrobe: to look dignified and feel really fresh, you need to remember 4 simple steps for spring preparation. Check out our simple checklist!
How long has it been since you washed the soles of your favorite sneakers? Do you have bleach in your arsenal? No, we’re not stuffy, but let’s be honest: shoes should always look neat. This is exactly the factor that can either ruin a cool outfit or make it super photogenic. No matter how smart you dress, dusty sneakers with traces of fun adventures on the white sole will draw attention. And this attention, to put it mildly, is not in our favor.
Therefore, a visit to Sneaker Spa is not an idea from the series “when I have time, I will come”, but a mandatory item of your plan for spring. Sneaker Spa is a project of the multi-brand store chain Street Beat, where you can return shoes for restoration and pick them up in almost the same condition as when you bought them. Sneakers, you know, deserve their spa day too! Professionals will thoroughly clean them, treat them with suede paint, remove scratches and scuffs, and of course freshen them up inside and out – trust me, you won’t know it when you come to pick up your favorite pair. And fall in love like the first time – like new!

Strictly evaluate outerwear
Footwear is just the first step in our ambitious plan to “Step into Spring Like a Goddess.” Next up for review are coats, jackets, raincoats, bomber jackets, leather jackets and all other outerwear.
How does everything usually go? We take out of the case (at best) a coat that has been hanging in the closet for a year and immediately put it on, ignoring the creases, unsightly folds and faded shade. We haven’t even started talking about the bobbins on the woolen models, the hooks and the protruding threads that suddenly became treacherously noticeable.
Technically, outerwear takes up a large area of your look, so it’s extremely important to monitor its condition. Check that the shoulders of your coat are not crooked: if it has been hanging in the closet for a long time, there may be a violation of proportions. Are there creases that are not smoothed out in any way? Don’t be lazy and take your clothes to the dry cleaners: there you can not only clean them, but simply choose the fabric refreshment service. Although after a year of separation, cleaning is still a mandatory item.

Another non-obvious step that, if ignored, can ruin your look. In winter, the skin tends to lighten, so we switch to denser but lighter textures. And what does it mean? Come spring, the foundation you used in December may not suit you! Take a closer look at your reflection in the mirror: maybe you need to mix winter and summer shades, or even it’s time to pick up a separate spring tone – a whitish face against the background of a slightly darkened neck from the spring sun will look strange.
Why did we put this item in quotes? Because there’s really no need to buy a separate mobile hanger, although it will come in very, very handy when you’re putting together a capsule wardrobe for the new season. When you hang up the clothes you plan to wear in the coming months, it’s immediately clear what’s missing, what needs to be taken care of, and what’s long overdue for scrapping.
And for the future, by the way, remember the stylist’s advice on how to find out in the fitting room whether you will wear a new thing or not – this way you will avoid unnecessary purchases. In any case, before the new season, it pays to lay out / hang clothes, shoes and accessories to create approximate outfits in your head. Trust me, it will make your morning preparations much easier!
In addition, there is always a chance to find old forgotten Cossacks somewhere on the distant shelves to save the day – also nice!
