It’s not the first time we’ve come across this bait: we’re looking for winter boots and boots on the website, we find some great models, we’ve already fallen in love with them, and then we find out that it’s an autumn collection – that’s why the boots are absolutely not suitable for cold weather. Shame is not the right word! Even more annoying is that even if you turn on the “winter models” filter, some sites will still offer autumn ankle boots and boots. Which unfortunately also looks so stylish…
The consequence of the story we described above is the purchase of semi-seasonal shoes “for love”. It is good for the middle months when it is not too cold yet. But in December, even in the southern regions, you will have to change your shoes, and then you will need good shoes and boots with fur and a thick sole. And no, if you pull on a lot of socks under your autumn Chelsea, this won’t save the day!
We already made a reservation about the sole above – it should be thick. And preferably corrugated to improve grip on icy pavement. Yes, winter boots don’t look as sophisticated and elegant as autumn boots, but they have a different function – to protect you from falls and keep your feet warm.
Attention all impulsive shoppers! Of course, it is not forbidden to fall in love with new clothes, but it can be dangerous: if in the store you are suddenly overwhelmed by bright blue shoes or shoes with a leopard print, there is a high probability that you will be very disappointed at home: the purchase may not fit into your main wardrobe.
What is your foot size – 37, 38? The number is not really important – it is important to add one to it to find really good winter boots. To keep the feet (especially the toes) from freezing, they need more space than in summer models: a small layer of warm air forms around the foot, which warms the body. In addition, during the cold season, you will need to wear warm socks – and this is another volume in your shoes that must be taken into account.
With how many tests go into winter footwear (we mean mud, reagents, rain and snow), you often don’t want to spend too much on new clothes. Like, what’s the point if the weather and roads are going to ruin it anyway? But often, when choosing too budget options, we get “cardboard” shoes that really stick out, but not after the season, but after the first trip to the street. Therefore, it is worthwhile to focus on the price / quality ratio in the middle – and of course to check the previous parameters.
