Where can I find Christmas markets in Zurich?
There are currently five Christmas markets in Zurich. The most popular are the Christmas market with Four in Niederdorf, Zurich, and the Christmas village in Bellevue. There is also a small Christmas market at Werdmühleplatz, which is very small but special thanks to the “Singing Christmas Tree”.
Anyone who comes to Zurich immediately falls under the spell of Christmas at the train station. While waiting for the train in the historic main hall, you can enjoy mulled wine and other delicacies, which are especially appreciated in bad weather. Of course, the Swarovski tree with 7000 crystals is the prettiest Christmas tree in town in Limmat. The Christmas lights will be turned on at 18:00 on November 24. The City Christmas Market between Jelmoli and Globus shopping centers is ideal for those who want to take a break from their Christmas shopping.
Christmas market in the old town of Zurich
The market in Niederdorf is spread over Hirschenplatz, Niederdorfstrasse and Rosenhof. There are about 50 stalls here. If you’re still looking for a Christmas gift, you should take a look at the Christmas market with Four in Niederdorf. Maya Surber sells blue and white Bunzlau ceramics. Cups, plates and bowls are reminiscent of grandma’s time. Very beautiful vintage.
There are funny and colorful hats with animal motifs at the stand of South America Maria Arias. Even the little ones love to wear hats. Alphorn Eyewear at Rosenhof has handmade frames made from buffalo horn. Custom products can also be made upon request. The last week before Christmas, the booth is at Sechseläutenplatz.
Christmas market in Bellevue
Located on Sechseläutenplatz in front of the opera house, the “Dörfli” covers almost the entire area and has around 100 grandstands. Anyone who wants to feast now there can only be one address: Christmas Village in Bellevue is a culinary market with several food stands. You can safely do without the classic fondue and raclette and try something more daring: Tibetan, Indian, Mexican or Scandinavian. Longing to have a nice vacation in Vietnam, we sip pho soup – beef or chicken noodle soup. Bipod hunters will adore the Luma Beef Burger and Wagyu Beef Ciabatta. The Kaiserschmarrn (12 francs) next to the big Christmas tree is a poem. The specially prepared Glöggli is available at the stands at Sechseläutenplatz. Tasty.
