We have to pay tribute to Simon Port Jacquemus: he knows how to put on a show. His show in Versailles became one of the most talked about news even before the first models entered the makeshift stage. Because regardless of the fact that the collection contains references to Lady Di, Vivienne Westwood and a ballet theme (which means you want to look at the pictures endlessly), the fact of the Versailles fashion show itself is incredible!
We ourselves, frankly, could not decide which model will win the battle for the main shoe trend of summer 2023 – pointed or round shoes. But there was no need to choose, because Jacquemus introduced a third player: ballerinas with a square “nose”.
Although, in fairness, they are not so much ballet flats: the stiletto heel and the open heel bring the model closer to slingbacks, but the Mary Jane-style strap brings everything back to the same ballet flats. In any case, the hybrid turned out to be quite fresh: it is not surprising that some fashionistas walked with it right at the show.
Check out Emily Ratajkowski – a ballerina in her prime! And “non-ballerinas” play an important role in this look. Mixing the classic shape of ballet shoes and a square cape, the new Jacquemus promises to be a bestseller – in fact, we will soon find out!
